No compromises — decaf shouldn't be an afterthought!

Sugarcane decaffeination uses a naturally occurring compound, ethyl acetate (EA), to decaffeinate coffee. Here's how it works:

  • The coffee beans are moistened with water and EA is circulated through the beans
  • The EA binds with the caffeine in the bean and extracts it, leaving out most of the other flavour compounds
  • After reaching the desired caffeine level, the residue is removed by steaming

    Our coffee is always shipped to you right off the roast, so by the time it reaches you it will be ready (or almost ready) to drink. We post the roast dates on the packet, and we suggest drinking after 7 days off the roast and before 6 weeks.
