Sugarcane decaffeination uses a naturally occurring compound, ethyl acetate (EA) to decaffeinate coffee. Here's how it goes...
- The coffee beans are moistened with water and EA is circulated through the beans
- The EA binds with the caffeine in the bean and extracts the caffeine. It leaves out most of the other flavor compounds
- After they reach the desired caffeine level, the residue from the process is removed by steaming
- Tasting notes: Malt loaf, golden syrup, vanilla, grape

Processing: Fully washed, mountain water decaffeination process -100% chemical free (raw coffee beans are immersed in mountain water and washed in tanks which removes almost all the caffeine, and are then slowly dried)
Altitude: 1,400 to 2,100 meters above sea level - Roast level: Medium

Our coffee is always shipped to you right off the roast, so by the time it reaches you it will be ready (or almost ready) to drink. We post the roast dates on the packet, and we suggest drinking after 7 days off the roast and before 6 weeks.
